I Don’t Want To Brag But

Valentine’s Day worked out for me. I received a dozen roses first thing in the morning, which was nice, but unnecessary. Bruce and I had dinner at a Vietnamese place down the street, so there was no cooking for me, even better. AND I got the DVD version of Trivial Pursuit, Pop Culture, which is fucking awesome.

For Bruce’s White Elephant Swap at Christmas he won a used Trivial Pursuit game. Well, sort of used. The little pie pieces were still attached to the hoop. But the board was missing.

According to Bruce you could see the elation in my eyes die when I realized the cruel twist of fate.

So flowers are nice, and not needing to cook dinner is always appreciated, but Trivial Pursuit, that’s love.

I’ve never played trivial pursuit. So what am I missing? Anything good?

Trivial Pursuit is excellent because the title is a perfect description of the game.

If you have a head full of useless and inane facts and a competative nature, this is the game for you. This is a celebration of minutiae

There are a few dozen versions now, like the generational ones for the 70s, 80s and 90s, as well as one specific to certain cultural events, think Lord of the Ring and Star Wars.

The original one, my favorite, is in its 6th inception. As the times move different questions are added. As a child I learned a lot about a lot from this game.

We have an embarrassing, like, 6 different versions of that game. Is that some sort of super love?

There is nothing embarrassing about owning 6 versions of TP. I think it shows that you are a well rounded individual who is in a relationship that must be as strong as the affection Britney Spears’handlers have for prozac. You might call it a super love.

I think that game says something about a relationship, you know surviving competition and the in-your-face dance that ensues when I win a game.
