How many licks to the center of the Tootsie Pop?
The second glass is always easier than the first. For some reason I forgot to drink alcohol. Really that sounds ridiculous and I understand that.
Bruce is pulling some long ass hours for the next four months. I know that I am the one who suggested that he work these hours and I know that for him to make it in his industry he has no choice. I also know that it’s boring at night in the suburbs.
For the last few weeks I have found solace in reading the blogs of people who live in cities. New York, London, LA, Paris. I miss it so much. It’s like my soul is bleeding and I have no way to close the wound. I am so sincerely jealous of the city: Starbucks on every corner, Live music, Art shows, Museums, Homeless people, Public transportation, Parks, Cabs.
The combination of Bruce being away and my growing ennui with the suburbs resulted in a trip to the booze isle at Target. They really DO have everything. So like I said, the second glass is always easier than the first but it’s really the third and fourth that interest me. Because, you see, once the fourth glass has been poured, there is no reason to not finish off the bottle.

1,904,784 licks.
Actually, there’s no reason not to finish it once it’s open.

TARGET IN CALI HAS A BOOZE AISLE?!?! Man. If I could put alcohol on my target card, the world would be a dangerous place.

Lili, it’s nice to be supported in my efforts to drink.
Atizz, um, YEAH. I don’t know that there is closer place for me to buy any alcohol, besides the bars, but I don’t want to drink in public alone. There is shame in that. Except for all the times I drank in public alone, then there is no shame.
Target also has a chocolate isle. Thusly I had chocolate and wine for dinner. I am awesome.

Well….maybe not. Am having enough troubles with Aus immigration…I can’t imagine the US would be any easier.

If you go to Hong Kong can I come? I think we’d probably get in a LOT of trouble.

Dear SG,
Please, for the love of all that is good, create a new post. Every day I come check your site, and every day I read the current reigning post’s title, and every day I immediately hear Lil’ Kim singing “How many licks.”
CAN’T YOU SEE HOW WRONG THAT IS? MAKING ME SING LIL’ KIM OVER AND OVER?
Thanks!

I actually totally thought of lil’ kim when I saw that title… ha!
I am so sad that we don’t have Target over here. it makes me want to come over with an empty suitcase (no that’s a lie; suitcase would have snacks to go with booze).
... as a stop-over on the way to HK…
but seriously though, I feel your pain. I can’t handle suburbs. as I was growing up my family moved every few years and we ended up further and further away from the city and it was super-depressing. I bailed the minute I could.
and now I’m being reminded by all of that Holy Blandness by the evil soulsucker that is Facebook. there is a post brewing on my lost sanity with regards to that site…
happy bottle-emptying. [hic]

Well, I am planning on getting over to London this spring. I think that we could all converge on HK. But then who would be the one who gets to blog about it?

hmm… well first of all, I think I’ve been to London way too frequently lately (wallet is crying), but HK I could justify as I’ve never forgiven SARS for annulling my trip 4 years ago. to be fair, I think we could all blog about it and be all unique-y and shit… and to be fair, I’m so lazy about blogging these days I could forfeit if there’s an argument. I’m all about the flickr now anyway.. :P

I blog about HK all that time. I would let you do the honours. I’ll take pics though. :)
